On Thursday, Riz Khan speaks to economist Robert Shiller, the best-selling author of The Subprime Solution, in which he charts the origins of the ongoing crisis and calls for an aggressive solution.

Mark Bloomfield, the president and CEO of the American Council for Capital Formation, also joins the show.

Gulf markets fall among uncertainty

Markets in the Middle East have closed deep in the red. They had been spared the pain over the last five days because they were closed for Eid holidays. But no respite for them today. Al Jazeera’s Hashem Ahelbarra reports from Doha, Qatar.
